very pleased, quality product

The generator was delivered sooner than anticipated and was well packaged. Some minor assembly was required. The Generator is a fine product and is definitely the best deal for the money spent. I used it during the latest snow storm when my power was out for about 12 hours. The generator easily powered my fireplace blower, entire entertainment center, 1500 watt radiator heater, several lights, and (refrigerator/microwave/toaster-alternately) all at the same time with no problems. It also adjusts its fuel consumption based on the current draw used so it used much less gas than its max rating. (about 1.5 gal in 3 and 1/2 hours) its rated for 8 hours on 4 gals. Having compared this generator to several others available at local retailers it is by far a superior product and I highly recommend it . Thanks for a great product at a great price!

Great unit for the money
-
Comment:
Item was delivered exactly as described, and in perfect condition with the exception of a small amount of surface rust on the underside front support bar. Some light brushing and a few srokes of Rustoleum paint made everything fine.(not unusual for any steel unit, and I have had many) Performance of the unit was impressive, not noisy and all outputs were fine. Easy starting, no smoking even with choke on. Very easy to move around with the large wheels. Change engine oil after 2 hrs run as you should with any new small engine. I power my whole house with the exception of central air and the stove, which in an emergency I do not care about.
Added bonus: Generator Facory Outlet knows how to treat customers.

Supports 30A service to trailer
-
Comment:
This generator does support 30A service for RV use. I did a lot of research before purchasing this one. Some competing brands imply that they are suitable for RV use, but actually are limited by 13A fuses, so that you can't draw more than that through a single plug. With the use of an L14-30 - TT30R pigtail adapter (e.g., [...] has one specifically for this brand), you can draw all output through the 120/240 L14 plug on the panel. In tests, I have put close to full rated 30A load with my RV through the single L14 plug using the adapter, with no problem. The generator handled the load easily. Its compact size (17x17x24 w/o wheel kit) and weight (120 lbs) means that it fits in the bed of my truck in front of my 5th wheel hitch for travel - and that I can put it there w/o help or popping a disc in my back! The oil fill plug is located on the front of the engine, giving me easy access. The oversized muffler eliminates most exhaust noise such that the engine operating noise is louder than the exhaust. Per the distributor, the cylinder has a cast iron sleeve, so it should last. Exactly what I was looking for.
You can find it a few bucks cheaper elsewhere, but I went with Amazon because of Amazon's reputation. Also, look at other sellers' return policies, as some only offer store credit on returns, and in addition charge you a restocking fee as well as for the free shipping, and return shipping, for returned or damaged items.

Good Generator : Electric Start a Plusb
-
Comment:
I got this at my husband's request. He wanted this (for his Christmas present) as an emergency generator, especially in case of Earthquakes for our Northern California home. So far, so good!! It is a little less portable than we would have liked, (quite heavy) but is adequate. The electric start is really a plus. My husband set it up to try outside, after following directions for putting in oil, and then gasoline, and attaching it to a temporary ground wire outside. It worked fine when attached to a motor on a 120 volt extension cord. He brought it back into the garage where it will live, and has attached it to another metal ground (part of the metal piping for the electric furnace) as a more permanent ground. He had emptied the gasoline out. The plan now is just to leave it, and to be able to just add gasoline when needed, and use the key to start it. He left the key in place. This should work very well for our needs, which is very rare actual use, but hopefully enough to keep emergency things going for a few days in case of severe earthquake: we would be able to stay in the house rather than heading out on the road, or not haveing any power. (We also got the cover which is a good idea for keeping dust off if using rarely). It seems to work flawlessly!!

First emergency use last night

Comment:
Last night during the heavy California rains, the electric went out. I grab the flashlight, pull off the cover that was included, put on the choke and on-switch and after two pulls, she was purring! Two pulls? Yes, because I'd been neglecting this kitten since June, when I last started her. Plugged in the fridge, two lights and the fish filter system. This thing rocks! Plus it was pleasing to know I was the only one with electric for miles on my busy road! NO REGRETS!!!

I was looking for a generator for emergencies and for camping. The DuroMax is that unit. I read the other reviews and followed their recommendations. When it was delivered, only 6 days after I placed the order, I examined the box, it was in good shape, as was the generator. The only problem I had was the yellow plastic oil dip stick had fallen out and the threads were a little missed up. I called the number on the instructions to request a new oil dip stick. Their reprehensive helped me and I had a new dip stick within 72 hours.
I then followed the easy to understand directions and the unit started the first time. The electric starter is great, no more pulling on the rope, which made my wife very happy, when she needs to start the unit. The weight is not bad. No problem lifting it into the back of my pickup truck. I just leave it there while camping.
The unit is large enough to operate the air conditioner on my camping trailer and micro wave at the same time.

I bought this to power our camper while we were at the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival. They have NO hookups.I borrowed a 1500 watt last year, & it would not handle the A/C on our camper. This worked GREAT. Mine arrived in perfect shape. It was well packed, with plenty of thick foam packing. It had 2 packing braces that had to be removed. Most reviews complain about being a pain putting oil in it. I simply tipped on its side & used a small funnel. After adding oil, I filled with gas, put choke on, turned the key, & it fired right up. Runs like a champ. The electric start is great. A little heavy, takes 2 people to lift it into the truck. Not as quiet as a Honda. But at half the price,it is easy to compromise. There was a 3000i Honda at the festival that hardly made any noise, but I'm sure it was over 2000 dollars. Fairly quiet. For the price & the fetchers it cant't be beat, especially when their is no tax & no shipping. Can't say anything bad, for the price.

Ship time was GREAT !! I ran my window unit AC, Medium size and a heater. No problem in a test.
Took about a 3000 watt. load no problem.
Very quiet for price. Pull started very easy.
Electric start worked well.
The one problem I am working on is the charging time it takes for it
to charge the Batt. I seem to have a very slow trickle charge.
Charged great with Batt. charger and 12vdc jumper but slow to charge
with Gen.
I check wireing and voltage was about 14.3 vdc to batt. I can live with it. Overall it works great !! Will add if I have any problems.
Great backup for the price. Enjoy....

Great Product for the Price

I recently purchased a used RV for my family to go on vacation. The RV has an AC unit. I looked around online for a unit with the power to supply 30 Amps, something that wouldn't be too heavy or large to transport, and for a price I could afford. I found all three in this unit. It has sufficient power to run my AC unit, it is light enough for my wife and I to load it in the trailer, and I couldn't believe it had electric start all for less than $500.00. I took it out in mid June and used it 4 hours a day for 5 days. I mainly ran a battery charger to keep the trailer batteries charged (didn't have to run the AC much), and I only used one tank of gas. So while my experience only includes 20 hours run time (hopefully it will last for years) I am completely and totally satisfied with this purchase.

Ordered during an emergency power outage, had delivered in 2 days. My father is unable to pull a crank so it was important to find a generator with electric start. For the PRICE, you cannot beat it. period. You can find a nicer generator with electric start, but for an extremely quiet, electric start you are looking at close to 1000.00 if not more. This is surprisingly quiet, and I am tickled it was so cheap. I am even happier with the service I got from generator factory outlet. I got it in a little over 24 hours. AWESOME experience. Of course the power came back on the day we got it. LOL
