Comment:I purchased this generator after looking at several other generators at the box stores like Lowes and The Home Depot. After reading so many positive reviews coupled with the price of this unit (with free shipping) I decided to go with the XP4400. I didn't get the electric start because all the reviews said one to two pulls would do it. It is packaged excellent for shipping so it wouldn't get damaged. I unpackaged the unit, installed the wheel kit and added fluids. One pull and it was running. I purchased this to mainly take camping but it will be a handy tool to have around the house. If you're looking for a nice generator at a great price, this is it.

Excellent value, complete wheel kit and everything fits: Yes!
Comment:The unit was packed very well, the wheel kit was complete and everything fits. I hate it when parts are missing or don't fit. Not the case with this product. Started on second pull out of the box and now starts on first pull. Runs very quiet. I'm very happy with the product. I also purchased the cord and outlet box to hook the unit up to the house for emergency power. You will be hard pressed to find an equal value anywhere.

Comment:We needed this asap for a camping trip and I was able to get it the next day. When we turned it on we didn't know what to compare it to because we never had a generator before. At first we thought it was LOUD and wasn't sure how well it would be in our campsite. We ended up using our friends generator that he paid $2,800 because his was so quite. Everyone said to try our generator out and to see how loud it was. We turned it on and it ended up being almost just as quite as our friends generator. We were so thrilled that we bought something for less and it performed just as well as the expensive one. I would recommend this to everyone.

Great for the price
Comment:We had to use it one night and we plugged in our two sump pumps our neighbors sump pump and our fridge and used a power strip, and it barely used gas in three hours.

works as advertised
Comment:Unpacked kit per the directions, put gas in it and fired it up in two pulls. We used it for a week on vacation about 8-12 hours per day. After that I changed the oil, no sign of any issues there. The fuel tank was larger than advertised. Don't expect to dip into the transient power rating for any measureable amount of time.

Now that I have it, I havent needed it
Comment:OK, I took one star off because - 1) I havent had to use it yet... and 2) I really believe a generator needs to come with a generator cord. And no generator comes with a cord - its not this one alone - but hey I gotta vent somewhere ! :-) So, after the December the ice storm and associated 4 days of no power, I just had to get me a generator. This one seemed most reasonably priced for the power I was looking for. It also came with a wheel kit, so Came on time, very well packaged, clear instructions, so all good there. Took 1 hr to open, assemble, fill oil and gas and test. Had to tip the entire generator 45 degrees fill in the oil so maybe the long neck funnel is a good idea after all. Started on one pull and reasonably quiet as generators go. I've only tested it with a portable electric heater (I still need to wire up my house), but I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

Good quality, quiet, reasonable price
Comment:Purchased as an emergency home generator. I haven't had to use it for any real power outage, but I have run it several times and loaded it up to near the rated capacity, letting it run long enough to get fully warmed up. I have been very pleased. It starts easily, and runs fairly quiet. From inside the house, I can barely hear it. If I ran it 15 or 20 feet from my bedroom window (double pane), I don't think it would interfere with my sleep. I shopped around quite a bit for generators, and I think this is a good price for a relatively quiet generator (69 db). I assume those that don't give a noise rating probably have poor ratings.

And she just kept on coming on!!
Comment:15 days without power would have been my destiny had it not been for the DuroMax4400E. Not only was it the quietest generator of all the gen sets running in my cul-de-sac, it lasted the longest time (12 hours @50%load) of all the rest on 4 gallons of fuel. After unpacking, fueling and adding the oil...I turned the key and it was all heaven from then on, I did use the pull crank to make sure it worked and it started on the first pull. She ran 12 hours with a 2-3 hour cooling off period in between shifts. It ran a huge Refridgerator/freezer, a small chest freezer, a 5500 BTU window A/C, several fans,2 lamps,a 31TV, Boombox, and phone chargers. All without a hiccup. Followed the directions , plugged in the highest wattage first, kept the oil topped off and finally changed it after 15 days of use and it wasnt that dirty. This gen set was awesome and the best money I have ever spent for creature comforts. I would highly recommend this generator to anyone in need and as a matter of fact a couple neighbors did replace their older noisier models for a DuroMax after seeing what mine did. Planning on getting the bigger 10,000 watt surge Duromax for next years' hurricane season and power up right to the house CB box with a switch box.I was amazed and impressed. Loved the fact that it didnt require frequent oil changes as some gen sets do. 5 stars *****
