Comment:We bought this generator about 6 months ago and just had a power outage due to lighting strike on a utility pole that lasted 6 hours. We have a 50 amp connection to the house circuit box and ran the Duro Max XP12000EH on propane. We were able to run the whole house except the electric furnace and water heater. We did run the 220v water pump in our well. The generator performed exceptionally well and we are totally satisfied. I think if we had a longer outage we could shut off the water pump and run the electric water heater to get ready for showers. We bought this for the power and duel fuel although I hope to use propane exclusively. Great product!

A great product
Comment:Purchase the unit at the sale price. Which is one third the cost of a Honda generator with similar wattage. It was delivered on time in excellent condition. It took me only a short time to mount the wheels and handles. The directions were simple. Rather than starting it up periodically, I put the leads of a trickle charger on the battery. Whereas, all I have to do is plug the trickle charger in once in a while to recharge the battery. Be forewarned that the manual requested an older classification of engine oil which is now ASSE "M." Just recently, the power went out for about 9 hours. The generator ran smoothly during the outage time using less than 20 pounds of propane in 9 hours. Allowing me to keep exterior security and interior lights on along with sewer pump, hot water heater, refrigerator, three TV's, furnace. The only thing kept off was the electric dryer and electric oven. For cooking, the microwave works great. Overall, I priced a standby generator installed with the same 12,000 watts would cost me between $6,500 to $7000. The cost of this unit, including electrician cost, 8 gadge cord, three new 20 pound propane tanks, propane, generator cover, and trickle charger was less than $2000. A great way to save five grand and live comfortably during a power outage.

Good buy for price
Comment:Bought this to power house and shop. Set up with 50 amp 240 volt outlet on house, 30 amp 240 volt outlet on shop. Set up and ran simulated power outage, runs well, fridge, freezer, lights...all the essentials with no problem. Will have to see how it does under true power outage, so far though I'm impressed. Have only ran on propane, don't plan on using gas. Quieter then I expected for 12000 watt unit (nice surprise). Not a Generac but nice unit for the price, besides could not find any other unit this size that ran on gas/propane.
