i bought a xp10000e from max tool a couple of weeks ago. when it arrived i hooked it up and found the generator part to be defective. I called max tool and explained what was going on and
in 5 minutes he told me to box it up and he would have it picked up an would send me a new unit which he did in 7 days.
there was no hassle or trying to put any blame on me, he just took care of business. The new unit is awsome. I hooked to my house and turned on 4 window units, two bigscreen TVs with seperate high output sound systems, plus two freezers an d two refridgerators, lights in the house and garage and also my 220 water pump came on with no problem. I ran it for an hour with this load and it worked fine.Feel well prepared for the next outage. One thing not to do is to overfill the fuel tank!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will cause fuel to run out in to the aircleaner unit until the fuel level get down to where it should be and could be dangerous.
Max Tool employees are excellent to work with and all seem to be
very knowledgeable about their products.

A little mix up with FedEx, date ,etc. Driver very nice, cooperative. He and I unloaded unit onto my furniture cart. He came in an eighteen wheeler to a narrow private road, so I had to meet him at the street. W/O the cart would have been an ordeal to get it to my garage. The next day opened the carton by cutting the carton with 2 slices on each side. The packaging was vg. While still on the cart, slid a 6x6 under unit and removed unit. You should consider having a young, flexible person to do/help with the installation as all work is at floor level and some serious dexterity is needed. The wheels, handles, and battery wire installation as quite simple. For the battery wire use a 1/4 socket set with a 15 inch extension. Real easy. The REAL bear was installing the left hand back lock nut on the left foot. It lays under the battery and you can only turn the nut 1/8 turn on each attempt.
Now the unit - excellent. Put a qt of Mobil one in, added gas with Stabil, turned the flow cock open, pulled the choke out and PRESTO.
Ignition. Ran great. Ordered the generator lockup kit-highly recommended-and my electrician installed it and the power cord thru the brick house into a junction box with a 15ft 50 Amp plug. Put the generator on the deck, plugged the cord in, shut off the whole house-all electric- at the junction box, and flipped the AC breaker on the unit on.
Flipped ALL the breakers back on in the junction box- HVAC and everything ran just like the power was on. My wife said she couldnt even hear the unit in the bedroom. That means it is a go. The electrician charge - $300. Reversed the process and we are back to the utility company. Put the cover on, wheeled it to the back of the deck.
The FedEx guy said he had delivered 3 other units in my area in the past week. During this heat wave, we have NOT lost power but I am now ready for anything. Go gets you one!!! Appears to be a great investment.

Easy enough to assemble, although heavy as expected. I Had to unscrew the face plate for the battery to hookup - not that big of a deal. I hired a master electrician to do a whole house 50 amp connection with 25 ft. cord. It runs all I need in the house except my new Amana 14 SEAR A/C unit. We may have to add a capacitor to smooth out or clean the current. The high efficiency A/C units are more temperamental. We'll see what the electrician comes up with.
Also note that this unit does not run at 10,000 watts, it runs at 8,000 watts and peaks at 10,000 watts. About 50 - 53 amps.

What a nice way to start my day. This new generator makes work turn into pleasure. Started right up first turn on the ignition key. I let it run for about 3 minutes then I put the air conditioner on it, right now with a small grunt, the A/C was pur'n away without a glitch. I ran it for about an hour without even a small hic-up. Again, this is a fantastic unit and it comes highly recommended

Not at all hard to move around the yard.

I am 63 years old and weigh a whopping 155 pounds, and this generator is EASY to move around the house to barn and back. Much easier than a wheelbarrrow of dirt or sand. My 110 pound neice can easily move it out of the garage and down the driveway and back. Don't let it's weight frighten you to buy a less powerful, (lighter) generator. I starts instantly and is almost as quiet as my 4KW Generac.
